Privacy notice
This notice covers YOD Connect: the connector and the pages at this address that let you use your YOD birth chart in AI assistants. The YOD app's privacy policy at yod-app.com/privacy-policy covers the rest of YOD. Questions: support@yod-app.com.
What we collect
- Your YOD account. Your email address, a password (held by Google Firebase Authentication, never by us in readable form) or your Google sign-in, and your first name.
- Your birth details.Birth date, birth time (or that you do not know it) and birthplace. We use them to calculate your chart with YOD's chart service and store them in your YOD account the same way the YOD app does: date, time and the name of the place. We store the calculated signs, the age they imply, and, for YOD Connect, the sign and house of each planet. We do not store your birthplace's coordinates.
- Journal entries you choose to save. When you ask a connected assistant to save something to your YOD journal, we store that text word for word, an optional label, the assistant's name and the time.
- Connections. For each assistant you connect: its name, where it returns after sign-in, the permissions you granted, and when it last used YOD. Access and refresh tokens are stored only as one-way hashes or expire within an hour.
- Your email preference. Whether you ticked the box to receive YOD emails.
What we do not collect
YOD Connect does not read your conversations with any assistant. An assistant sends YOD only what its tools need: a request for your chart, an optional date for transits, and the text of a journal entry you asked it to save. We keep the journal text and nothing else from those requests. We do not use what flows through the connector to profile you, to infer health, beliefs or other sensitive traits, to advertise to you, or to train any model.
What an assistant receives
Your Big 3, the sign and whole-sign house of each planet, their short meanings, and the day's transits to your chart. An assistant never receives your birth date, birth time, birthplace or coordinates. What the assistant does with your chart after that is governed by that assistant's own privacy policy.
Email
When you create an account here, YOD sends the same emails the YOD app sends at sign-up: an email to verify your address (for email sign-ups) and YOD's welcome email, which describes the YOD app. Other YOD emails, such as news and announcements, go to you only if you ticked the box to receive them. Every YOD email that is not about your account carries an unsubscribe link. Nothing is ever sent into a chat.
Who processes it
Google Firebase (authentication and the database that holds your YOD account), YOD's chart service on Google Cloud, Google Places (to look up the birthplace you type), Resend (to deliver email) and Vercel (to host these pages). Each acts on our instructions.
How long we keep it
- Your account and birth details: until you delete your YOD account.
- Journal entries: until you delete them, delete your connector data, or delete your YOD account.
- Access tokens expire after one hour. Refresh tokens expire after sixty days without use and end immediately when you disconnect.
- Unfinished sign-in requests are discarded after fifteen minutes, and sign-in codes after one minute.
Your choices and deletion
- Disconnect any assistant from your chart page. Its access ends at once.
- Delete any journal entry from your chart page.
- Delete all YOD Connect data (journal entries, connections and the connector's copy of your chart) from your chart page.
- Delete your whole YOD account in the YOD app under Settings, then Delete Account, or by writing to support@yod-app.com. Within a day of an account's deletion, YOD Connect removes any data it still holds for that account.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for a correction, at support@yod-app.com.
Age
YOD is for people 18 and over.
